Manchester United in talks with Barcelona for Jordi Alba - report
The Barcelona defender was thought to be keen to leave the Nou Camp after falling down the pecking order under Luis Enrique.
But with Enrique now gone and Ernesto Valverde in place, things appears to be on the up for Alba.
He is certainly happier at the Nou Camp but that hasn’t stopped United from trying to secure his signature.
Jose Mourinho is a fan and will push to bring the left-back to Old Trafford.
That’s according to Diario Gol, who say Barcelona will be tempted to sell the Spaniard if the offer is right.
Mourinho is clearly not a fan of Luke Shaw and has been using Marcos Rojo and Daley Blind to fill in at left back.
There were high hopes for Shaw but he’s not pushed on and suffered a terrible double break in his leg in 2015.
Mourinho has criticised him publicly and accused him of having no football brain.
In April he said: "He [Shaw] had a good performance but it was his body with my brain.
"He was in front of me and I was making every decision for him.
"The communication was possible because we were very close.
“I was thinking for him, when to close inside, when to open, when to press the opponent, I was making every decision for him."
