The four top six sides all kept apart in a pre-recorded draw

Jose Mourinho was quickly likened to Brian Clough after he was appointed Chelsea manager in 2004 and those comparisons were fuelled by the Nottingham Forest great's death just three months after that announcement.

Mourinho has had some idiosyncratic moments that evoke memories of Clough and made a pilgrimage to Nottingham during Euro '96 to witness just how much the people worship the greatest manager England never had. Mourinho has already surpassed and emulated Clough in English football.

The Portuguese has more league titles and as many League Cups as Clough and should Mourinho retain the three-handled trophy with Manchester United this season then he will become the competition's most successful manager.

The quarter-final draw starts at 4pm and United are one of four top six sides to have made the last eight after Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea also progressed.
