Inter Milan lower Ivan Perisic asking price: Jose Mourinho wants star at Man Utd
INTER MILAN are reportedly demanding Manchester United stump up £48m for star man Ivan Perisic.
The Croatia winger, 28, has spent the past two years with the Serie A outfit after sealing a £17.5m move from Wolfsburg.
And he was one of their most impressive performers in a disappointing 2016/17 campaign, scoring 11 goals and providing assists for nine more.
Inter Milan are facing the prospect of failing to comply with UEFA’s Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules - which is set to lead to a fine.
And they are apparently prepared to sacrifice Perisic in order to balance the books by June 30 and avoid having to hand over £6.1m.
Gazzetta dello Sport claim Manchester United are in the hunt for the international’s signature.
And they say Jose Mourinho has tested the water by lodging a £26m bid with Inter Milan.
The Portuguese is now said to be willing to allot £45m of his transfer funds to tie up a deal.
However, it seems Inter Milan are holding out for more, despite their need to bring funds in.
Gazzetta dello Sport suggest San Siro chiefs have lowered their asking price for Perisic from £52.5m.
But they are still holding out for £48m before they will sanction his sale to former boss Mourinho.
