Man United medical staff impressed by 21yo, he will head on pre-season tour: report
I think it’s fair to say that Jose Mourinho and Luke Shaw didn’t really see eye-to-eye for the most part last season. The England international probably would have expected to play more, but obviously for one reason or another that didn’t happen.
Now, although reports about a potential exit for the left-back did surface, we’ve just been given the biggest hint yet that he will be staying at the Theatre of Dreams.
That’s according to ESPN, who are stating that Shaw will take part in Manchester United’s pre-season tour which starts in Los Angeles on Sunday. The report actually goes one further, with the Red Devils medical team impressed with his commitment and dedication during rehabilitation after suffering ankle ligament damage.
I’ve always said that Shaw is one of the talented left-backs that we’ve ever had on our books, but I think he’s had his fair share of rotten luck. It’s so easy to forget, but he’s still only 21 and he definitely has time on his side.
Although the report adds that he will not be available to play until the end of August, you can bet that Mourinho will be keeping a watchful eye on his progress.
