Manchester United focus on Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata after Cristiano Ronaldo development
Manchester United have switched their focus to Alvaro Morata with Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly ready to drop his feud with Real Madrid.
Ronaldo was said to be unhappy with the level of support he received from Real after being embroiled in a tax fraud scandal and told the club he could quit.
But after newly re-elected president Florentino Perez publically backed the Portugal superstar to clear his name, Ronaldo is said to be prepared to make peace with the La Liga giants.
According to The Sun, this development has seen Jose Mourinho turn his attentions back to Ronaldo’s Real team-mate, Morata.
The Spain international is being strongly linked with a summer move after a frustrating season at the Bernabeu, with Chelsea also showing interest
But the Blues are in pole position to sign Romelu Lukaku from Everton, leaving United in a strong pitch to secure a deal for 24-year-old Morata.
The talisman, who netted 15 goals in 14 La Liga appearances last season, is said to be keen on a move to Old Trafford to work with Mourinho.
