Chelsea preparing transfer move for Tom Davies after Roman Abramovich gives Antonio Conte green light
Chelsea are readying a move to sign Everton midfielder Tom Davies this summer, according to reports.
Davies had a breakthrough season at Goodison Park last term, scoring two goals in 25 appearances for the Toffees, but the 19-year-old is being linked with a Stamford Bridge switch ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.
The Sun claim Antonio Conte is considering a swoop for the highly-rated youngster after Roman Abramovich gave him the nod to spend big in the coming weeks.
It’s understood Davies has emerged on Conte’s wishlist along with Alex Sandro, Antonio Candreva, Fernando Llorente and Virgil van Dijk.
Abramovich is believed to have given the Italian the green light to spend at least £250million on new signings before the summer transfer window slams shut.
he Premier League champions missed out on Davies’ former Everton team-mate, Romelu Lukaku, earlier this summer after the striker decided to join Manchester United instead.
Lukaku joined the Red Devils for an initial fee of £75m which saw Alvaro Morata move to Stamford Bridge.
